if i drop a volley ball and a base ball at the same time and they land at the same time, why does that happen?
a base ball and a volleyball both held 9 ft from the ground.

why do they land on the ground at the same time?
An astronaut did this experiment on the moon with a feather and a metal weight and it came out the same way. - The most famous version of this experiment was supposedly done by Galileo on the Leaning Tower of Pisa. See:

As to the reason why this happens, - the Earth will attract a two pound ball with twice as much force as a one pound ball - but the two pound ball has twice as mass. Newton's second law states that the acceleration of an object is dependent upon two variables - the net force acting upon the object and the mass of the object. That is why it is harder to get a heavy object moving at a particular speed than a light one. - So when you drop two balls, the extra gravitational force acting on the heavier one is canceled out by its greater mass.
If the experiment is not performed at place where there is no air (such as on the surface of the moon) air resistance will alter the results noticeably if one of the objects has very little mass compared to its surface area. (such as a feather).
